Hybrid PhysX is an name of unofficial configurations, where AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce cards are used simultaneously, AMD GPU for graphics, and NVIDIA GPU - for PhysX.

Hybrid PhysX configurations are not supported and were even chased by NVIDIA (if AMD card is detected in the system, NVIDIA GPU will lock PhysX processing capabilities), thus were available only through special driver hack, known as Hybrid PhysX Mod, developed by a user with nickname "GenL". In the summer of 2016 though, NVIDIA must have had a change of heart and allows the pairing with AMD cards ever since.


Important note.

Hybrid PhysX is not officially supported by NVIDIA and AMD. Use it for your own risk.

Driver compatibility

Installation instructions

1. Install or update the AMD drivers.
2. Install the NVIDIA drivers and PhysX runtime (included)
3. [optional] If you desire a minimal configuration: only GPU drivers, HDMI audio driver and PhysX system software are actually needed
1. Attach an additional monitor to the Geforce card or setup a virtual display.
2. Go to the Windows display settings and enable multi monitor view [clone mode in most cases, if you want to retain Crossfire capability you have to pick the extended mode]
3. [optional] Go to NVIDIA control panel and change the PhysX processor setting from "automatic" to "Geforce XYZ"
4. Verify whether the Hybrid PhysX setup is active by starting GPU-Z and checking the PhysX infobox of your AMD card

2. Use the mod to patch all needed files and registry values automatically.
3. [optional] Use command line files to set a desired configuration.

Alternative Solutions

Uses modified files from GenL Mod and some .dlls manipulation, should work with latest GPU and PSS drivers.
