Digital Content Creation plug-ins for Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya are parts of PhysX SDK physics middleware package, and can be used:
- by Developers for authoring, tuning and exporting of PhysX SDK scene and objects.
- by VFX artists to leverage PhysX SDK simulation capabilities, like rigid body or cloth, for better creation of effects for movies or commercials.
PhysX plug-in for Autodesk Softimage is already built-in. No separate installation is necessary.
In Q4 2010, Autodesk has decided to integrate PhysX plug-ins into 3ds Max and Maya products as basic features[1].
