Our fellow communuty member Stefan has discovered interesting way to determine if certain Android apps are relying on PhysX SDK integration, with the help of “Dalvik Debug Manager” from Android SDK and any HEX-editor.

Our fellow communuty member Stefan has discovered interesting way to determine if certain Android apps are relying on PhysX SDK integration, with the help of “Dalvik Debug Manager” from Android SDK and any HEX-editor.

You can read full description at our forums.

One of the main tasks of the PhysXInfo.com project is to collect and preserve information about all PhysX SDK based games and applications – that’s what you can see on our frontpage. However, so far we we haven’t paid much attention to mobile and portable platforms, like iOS and Android devices, due to difficulties with titles tracking process.

Now, when NVIDIA has stated “emerging gaming platforms like handheld game devices, tablets, and smartphones” as significant part of PhysX SDK 3 development environment, we are thinking about adding new “Portable” section to our applications database, that will contain information about PhysX based titles on handheld and mobile devices.

Stay tuned.

Browsing through work folders on my PC today, I have found this old project:

Back in 2007 PhysX Developers section of Ageia website has some disputable structure (for example, Physx SDK features description was missing, but there was large flash banner with several CG-sequences, not related to PhysX at all) – thus, I’ve decided to recreate this section from my “point of view” and send it to Ageia. And actually, some of my ideas (like feature list) were used later on.

So, just for amusement factor I’ve uploaded whole thing to PhysXInfo – maybe it gonna be interesting for someone, who is still curious on Ageia part of PhysX history.

Proceed to alternative Ageia PhysX Developer website [Link not available anymore]

Buried with Dark Void video, I’ve completely forgot about one thing – 17 January 2010 was 3 Years Anniversary of whole PhysXInfo.com project.

Back in Jan 2007 it was just one page with PhysX SDK based games list, settled on a 3d-party website (rubux.net, doesn’t exist anymore). In May 2008 I’ve desided to move to a [...]

In May 2008 I’ve desided to move to a free hosting (you may remember it – physx.cwx.ru), still site contained only regularly updated PhysX games and application table, but only in August 2009 PhysXInfo evolved to its current form – own domain name, news feed, comparison videos ans screens, forum.

So, thanks to all people who are helping and supporting me, or at least reading PhysXInfo sometimes
