with 8 comments

Several chinese websites have reported, that first PhysX SDK 3 based game – online shooter called “Extreme Fire” – was demonstrated by NVIDIA at China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference (ChinaJoy 2011).

You can find video, showcasing some destructible environments and particles effects, here. It was also mentioned, that this game will also support GPU PhysX acceleration.

Previously, GPU PhysX support was announced for another Chinese shooter – Mars.

Hard to say, destruction is too simple. But APEX was updated to use SDK 3 code some time ago, afaik.

Ehm, btw, here is another chinese game with APEX (Destruction + Clothing, I believe) integration

  4. The destruction looks like .FBX items,i’ve used these alot and the way they fall looks exactly like Physics Assets like in UDK. Wich at heart are actually FBX. but just a theory, it could be apex, but from what I worked with it does not seem production ready, Only prototype still..

  5. “.FBX items”, FBX is a file format, I am guessing you mean indivdual models created in a 3D app such as Blender, Maya, or Max?

  7. “wrong, APEX hasn’t been released for physx 3.0 so far.”

Where are you getting your info?

No public release, doesnt mean some devs dont have access to a version with 3.0 SDK support.

    facepalm
man, I was not saying that APEX with SDK 3.0 was released for public.
But I was told that they have “migrated the underlying [APEX] engine support to 3.0″ at GDC 2011 timeframe.
