with 4 comments

After a long break WeeklyTube is back, with set of interesting PhysX videos we have missed in recent months.

Two Worlds II – Magic of Physics by Dseph

Spirit of Cellfactor lives within Two Worlds II, thanks to accurate PhysX SDK integration and versatile magic system.

BioReplicant — Prolonged Interactive Experiences by ActionReactionLabs

Dynamic character animation system called BioReplicant. Not a Natural Motion’s Euphoria yet, but step in right direction.

Unity3d Physics – Destroyable building by theGoldenBlimp

Destructible environments inside Unity 3D engine via custom physics assets.

Bear Poop Bear by djvonfunkin

Apart from disgusting idea, softbody simulation is looking nice.

  1. Skeleton vs Terminator? Although the Bio Replicants thing only seems to have one rule: The skeleton reacts to getting hit by stuff….

The Two Worlds thing looks like a good use of the Cell Factor style force effects. But they should add more control, eg gather stuff and fling/funnel it in a specific direction.

Also I guess the polar bear is using ragdolls rather than soft bodies….

Too bad I’ve played as Warrior, not a Mage.
Anyway, physics in TWII is as good as it was bad in original Two Worlds ;)

At least big one is softbody, I believe

  3. Anyway is there GPU@PhysX implemented in Two Worlds II? I set option HW PhysX in Options but GPU Load in my PhysX card i still 0%. Does it mean that there will be a patch in the future with adition PhysX effects?

    With DX11 ? Who knows)
In any case, there was an answer from ZuxxeZ support, stating that PhysX is calculated on CPU only. Dunno why they have added this option than :-/
