GeForce GTX 480 with GTX 465 for PhysX Benchmarks

with 5 comments

It seems that TweakTown loves testing monstrous (and thus redundant for regular user) PhysX configurations. Previously it was HD 5970 + GTX 480, and now – GTX 480 for graphics along with GTX 465 working as dedicated PhysX card.

Update: and yet another article from TweakTown – GTX 480 vs GTX 470 + GTX 260 in PhysX games.

Performance numbers are great, but GTX 465 does not seems to be a good candidate for such role because of heat, noise and high power consumption. I’m personally waiting for low-end Fermi based GPUs, to reinforce my new GTX 470 ;)

  1. Huh) GTX 485 on graphs instead of GTX 480, and Darkest of Days tested with Low PhysX (without extra effects) – it seems their editor was a little inattentive today :P

  5. As for Batman, I’ve gathered enough PhysX performance reviews last year ;)

As for GTX4xx cards specifically + dedicated PhysX card in Batman, there are some links too
    GTX 470 + GT 240
    GTX 480 + GTX 280
    GTX 480 + various others

also, take into account that TweakTown is using 4.2Ghz CPU – that significant boost for fps in all cases
