I am thinking about getting a new 470 and I currently have a 8800GTX 512... The idea would be for the upcoming mafia2 to use the 470 for graphics and 8800GTX for PhysX.
Aside from the power supply which will probably need a replacement, is this possible ? Do I need to "crossfire" the cards for that?

Thanks for alleviating my newbieness...

Thanks

You just need a two free PCI-E slots.
No other physical connection (like SLI bridge) is required

Be careful though, the GTX 470 seems to have some very picky firmware and sometimes doesn't jive too well with other cards used for dedicated PhysX.

Some tinkering may or may not be required.

Well, haven't encountered any problems with my GTX 470 + GTS 450 setup yet  Smiley

BTW, your PPU and dedicated PhysX GPU - do you using them both, at the same time ?
