Very interesting !
Previous version of HPL engine was using Newton physics.

I need to check that.

Steam version seems not to have any signs of PhysX SDK usage, but Newton .dlls.

Maybe you were using "unofficial" re-pack ? They usually add DirectX/PhysX to prerequisites.

Not sure if you have this but Natural Selection 2 has the option for GPU PhysX.

Just had a game and it doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment. Must be a work in progress.

Call Of Duty Ghosts doesn't have an option to disable GPU PhsyX! it is active and can be seen in many sparks and glass particles effects but can't be disabled .. any reason for that?

Afaik, COD: Ghosts are not using PhysX to date. You can check that running .exe is not utilizing any of PhysX / APEX .dlls currently.
I haven't played Ghosts much, but I can assume that majority of those particle effects are pre-scripted and pre-animated)

Well, the patch is out now ,with fur and smoke as you pointed out in the news section, but I can swear those particle (sparkles, broken glass pieces ,wooden shrapnel..etc) are GPU PhysX accelerated , they bounce off the ground and stay there awhile longer, they don't just disappear immediately like CPU particles usually do!

PhysX logo spotted at end of Enemy Front teaser.

City Interactive quote from 2011:
"...Furthermore the environmental damage system of CryENGINE 3 will allow diverse, fully destructible maps that reflect the damage from every bullet fired and every grenade tossed."

guess they had higher expectations for CE3 physics system.  once again PhysX to the rescue.
